REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing
.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected
.
2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
4. REMOVE STEERING PAD
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the cruise control main wire harness clamp from the steering wheel side. |
(b) Disconnect the steering pad switch connector and cruise control main switch connector from the spiral cable.
(c) Remove the steering wheel set nut.

(d) Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft. |
(e) Using SST, remove the steering wheel.

6. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 2 screws.
(c) Detach the 4 pins and remove the steering pad switch.
7. REMOVE STEERING PAD COVER RH (w/o Steering Pad Switch)

(a) Remove a screw. |
(b) Disengage the 2 pins and remove the steering pad cover.
8. REMOVE STEERING PAD COVER LH (w/o Steering Pad Switch)

(a) Remove a screw. |
(b) Disengage the 2 pins and remove the steering pad cover.
9. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
|
(a) Remove the 2 screws and remove the cruise control main switch. |
10. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD ATTACHING SCREW
|
(a) Remove the 2 steering wheel pad attaching screws. |
